Water Fairness

One of the problems we need to fix with our government is how unfairly it treats the poor and how many privileges it gives the wealthy. What do I mean? Maria, a single mother in my district raising three children in an apartment pays more for her water than someone living in a single family home in Beverly Green.

Maria, in her apartment, pays more for her water than, let’s say, Heidi does in Beverly Green, because of the highly prejudicial practice of the our Water Authority.

The Southern Nevada Water Authority bases its charges on the size of the pipes going onto the property and a system of increasing tiers. So, Maria in her apartment pays about $300 per year more than she would if she were raising her children in Heidi’s single family home.

This is just not right and needs to change now.
